Lampworking classes...

I love teaching glass lampworking.  It's such a unique material to work with and seeing my students create their own little works of art is wonderful.  I hope that you enjoy the class every bit as much as I do!

I have been teaching since 2008.  Please go to 'About' to see my qualifications.

The Studio...

On the right you can see the studio where the lampworking classes will be held.  It is fully equipped and you can see below the sort of tools that can be used during making.

Beginners classes include...

Health and safety, tools and equipment, suppliers, melting glass, basic shaping, stringer pulling, spot application, all things dots, spots and stripes, plunging and patterns.

Intermediate classes include...

Encasing, stringer control, glass rings, gold and silver fuming, scrolling, canes, hollow beads, sculptural pieces, gold and silver foil, enamels, colour reactions, and reduction glass.

Plus much more!!

(Obviousl
y not all these areas can be covered in one lesson, so if there are any that you would like to learn in particular, feel free to request them.)

Every student is given a set of class notes to take away with them, and all the pieces made during the class (including demos).

Classes are usually taught on a 1-1 basis, but there is the option to bring a friend along at a discounted rate.

I
